Hello there, my name is Chris Ammond. I am a 22 year old, self taught freelance photographer from Ohio. I have lived in a relatively small town focused on a dead football legacy called Massillon my entire life, and for the most part I don't really mind it. I currently work for Pepsi as a merchandiser but I want to make my living doing photography.
I am about three years into photography and I plan on making everyone in the industry know my name. I want to create my own style of photography, not copy somebody elses. I love every type of photography, but portraits are what I enjoy doing the most. Working with people is much more challenging and rewarding than doing landscapes or nature. My photography is based on good lighting and exposure. In the end I think that will be what seperates me from the rest. Oh, and I shoot with Canon.
As you can see, it has been quite a while since I have updated this, but it's not for lack of trying! I have been locked out of my account because my webhost, who will remain unnamed, has issues with people changing their passwords. At any rate, you haven't missed much anyways. I took on a full time job on second shift, so photography was put on the back burner, unfortunatly. I was recently laid off to part time, so I will begin shooting again soon! In all of my downtime I came up with quite a few good ideas and I'm REALLY excited to see how things turn out. At any rate, keep checking in to see what I've been up to and see the new projects as they unfold!
It's been over a month since I have posted here so I decided I should let you guys know what I have been up to. I recently shot my first wedding ever, and it went very well. I was nervous going into it but I ended up actually having a pretty good time and got some really good shots out of it. They seemed very pleased and said they would recommend me to others so I would say it was a success. May has been a pretty busy month for me as I have had shoot after shoot for the past few weeks. The wedding was my last shoot until I get back from vacation though, so I won't be posting anything new until later in June. The next scheduled shoot I have is a wedding for two good friends of mine, and Stephanie will be assisting me. Hopefully it goes as well as this last wedding did and I can get myself a good name in the wedding photography business. Stay tuned for some new shots coming soon!
Well, the site is finally up and running. I'm such a horrible procrastinator. My site has been 99% finished for three weeks now and I still couldn't motivate myself to finish it, but alas, it is now finished (sort of). I highly doubt I will update this blog as much as I should but I read somewhere it's a requirement to post one when you launch your site, so here I am rambling on. I think the winter lull is finally over, because business is starting to pick up again.
I had two shoots last weekend. The senior portrait shoot I did for Ashley went great. I took one of my favorite portraits of all time on that shoot, and she seems happy with all the finals. From here on out I have a shoot every weekend, until I leave for vacation on May 31 so be on the lookout for new pictures and updates on the site and my flickr!
